Deep Water Solo: Athlete Meet & Greet

Meet the athletes who will be competing in the Deep Water Solo competition — from an American Ninja Warrior, local climbers from Charlotte, National USA Climbing competitors, and more. All ages are welcome.

Learn to Raft Guide

Learning to guide a raft isn’t just for professionals. Get a taste of what pushing rubber is like in this introduction to paddling. Review skills such as guide positioning, basic strokes, and ferrying, complete with each participant guiding a lap down the Class III Wilderness Channel. The minimum age for this clinic is 16 years old.

This clinic requires a Tuck Fest race and competition registration and meets at the River Center. This clinic is capped at 16 people, and is first come, first serve.

Trail Running 101 presented by HOKA

Hit the trails with HOKA and learn to master the art of trail running in this informative Trail Running 101 session. Designed for individuals of all ages that are either new to trail running or those who simply want to learn how to move more efficiently along the trail and stay injury free while doing it. HOKA will also have opportunities to demo their latest trail shoes; available in youth and adult sizes.

Adventure Architect

See how STEM principles are applied in the real world.  Participants will create their own towers with toothpicks, spaghetti, and marshmallows, and then participants will test to see how tall they can build their tower. Recommended ages 8-15

Art In Nature

Participants will be able to try their hands at several crafts that use and focus on nature. Recommended for ages 4-10

Benefit of the Bees

Participants will learn about the benefits of bees in the world around us and have the chance to make their own sweet snack. Recommended for ages 4-10

Owl Discovery

Participants will dissect owl pellets and will learn how to find and identify tiny bones from an owl's recent meal. Participants will learn about different owl species and their places in the food web. Recommended for ages 8-15

Solutions to Pollution Presented by Catawba Riverkeeper

Learn about the effects of trash pollution on waterways and the environment, as well as potential solutions. Participate in activities that teach you about decomposition and biodegradation processes, as well as how to raise awareness and take action to combat waterway pollution.
