The Whitewater Unguided division of the Raft Race offers the chance for expert paddlers and experienced rafters to test their squishy boat skills. Teams of three or four compete in a head-to-head format down the class III and IV rapids of the Competition Channel. The fastest teams will advance until a winner is crowned. Guides will not be provided in this category. For all whitewater races, participants must have prior experience on similar whitewater in the same discipline. Competitors must bring their own whitewater-specific PFD and helmet. Paddles and rafts will be provided. Participants must be at least 16 years old.
Race check-in operates on a first-come, first serve basis. Check-in will be open from 10:30am-11:00am at the River Center. A mandatory pre-race meeting will be held 30 minutes prior to the race. Only racers in the first-place raft will earn medals.
